June Seminar

Fundraiser Event Seminar

Date: Thursday June 9th 2011

Location: Lewis School of Isshinryu Karate

Address: Mill Branch Lane Knoxville, TN. 37938

Time 6:30PM until 8:30 PM

To participate in the seminar we ask for a Donation of $10.00

(We ask that you speak to your family and friends and see if they wish to help by making donations that you or they can bring to the seminar.)

Purpose of the fundraiser is to provide financial support for the grandchild of one of our “Isshin-Ryu Family” members, Jim McDonald.

Cooper McDonald is Autistic and in need of Sensory Integration Therapy treatments. This treatment actually helps to create new connections in the brain; however, the family’s insurance does not cover this treatment.  Therefore, the family has to bear the full burden of the costs.  Please come out to support this seminar and help us raise funds to donate to the Cooper McDonald Treatment fund.

The family will appreciate any amount you can donate

We hope to provide as much funding as possible to help Cooper McDonald and his family.

100% of the funds go to the Cooper McDonald fund!!!

Thank you for your Support

It was a great night although I was a little disappointed when Master Newman didn't actually walk on fire ....
Sorry if during my small portion I might have overloaded some with to much information but I wanted to briefly touch as many concepts as possible to give us a baseline for future training.
As always Master Newman amazed me, and I was extreamly impressed with Master Taylors Wansu Seminar considering that over half the students there were not familiar with the kata ... I gained a greater respect for Mike as he guided the novice through!!!
Plus Master Shultz gave us some fantastic footwork drills that Brad and I are planning to use after a bit of practice ....

That just shows good common sense .... something you and I seem to lack .... or it might be that you and I happen to sit in front of a computer to much during the day ....

    Hello All,

WOW! what a night. I was tickled with the turn out and the depth each presenter went into in such a short time.

The dinner afterwards was a barrell of fun. It wes great to hang out with everyone in a different setting than a dojo. Unfortunately, I had to sit next to Mike Taylor and his rude and crude comments all night were a little more than i could take at time. Everyone know that i am a quiet, reserved person when in a crowd. I tried to be on my best behavior but sitting next to that man made it tough.

Mike and Mark i would make a comment about some of the things you all have said in the blog but it seems everytime i start making comments, everyone goes away.

    Hey guys,

It was a great night. We all got to get with our old friends and make new ones. and in the end if was for a wothwile cause. I was talking with some earlier today and I said I have heard people say they just felt a calling for them to do something. I had never had that experience. So, I did not know what they meant. then I got the email requesting help for Cooper and I just felt as I needed to do something. i was just pushed by something inside. Having so many people attend and the donations that were given made me feel good that Other People responded to the feelings that were pushing me from the inside to make this happen. It was great and we need to do another seminar. Maybe we can put my bo seminar back on in July but fine a large enough place to do it inside out of the heat.
